We all know air fresheners are bad. They are full of yucky chemicals that don’t eliminate bad odors – they just mask them with a synthetic fragrance. They can cause headaches and fill your home and lungs with toxic combinations of unknown chemicals.

In fact, many people are allergic to air fresheners and scented candles. My husband is one of them. We hadn’t been married long when he banned all scented candles, spray air fresheners, plug in scent warmers, potpourri – anything that was made in a factory as a way to make your home smell good.

So, I wasn’t sure what his reaction would be when I brought home a diffuser and started making my own essential oil cocktails to mist in the air. I was so excited when he didn’t start sneezing or get a headache. He actually enjoyed them and asks me often to put his favorite oils in the diffuser.

What exactly does diffusing essential oils do? It cleans AND purifies the air. It doesn’t just mask the smell. It actually cleanses the air in your home.
