Bacon Mac and Cheese:
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. Macaroni
- Vegetable oil
- 2 tsp salt
- 4 cups milk
- ½ cup flour
- 12 oz Swiss Cheese
- 8 oz Sharp Cheddar
- 6 Tbl unsalted butter – divided
- ½ tsp pepper
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- 1 Tbl Kosher salt
- 6 slices of cooked bacon
Starting the Macaroni
Please make sure the first step you take is to preheat the oven to 375 F to avoid sitting around waiting for it to warm up once you’ve finished your preparation.
Care for the macaroni first by placing it in an enormous pot of water to a boil at a high temperature. After boiling, add the macaroni, salt, and some vegetable oil into the pan. The pasta is cooked for 6-8 minutes or until it’s al dente. When the macaroni has been cooked and drainable, place it in a strainer in the sink.
Macaroni and Cheese Recipe
While the pasta cooks, prepare the milk by heating it in a small saucepan but not to the point that it begins to boil or bubble. The milk will begin to coagulate, making it lumpy instead of smooth.
As the milk heats and macaroni boils and macaroni is boiling, melt all six spoons of butter you have in the other stock pot. Once the butter melts, add the flour and mix at a low temperature for about a minute or two.
At about this point, your milk ought to be at a temperature that is warm enough that you can mix it with the flour and butter. After adding it, stir for 4 to 5 minutes or until the sauce becomes smooth.
Add pepper, nutmeg, and salt when the mixture is smooth. Then, you can begin adding the cheese, but do it slowly at a time so that you can melt it fairly quickly. If you add all the cheese in one go, creating the smooth, creamy cheese sauce will be very difficult.
Combining the Mac and Cheese
Once you’ve got both cheese and macaroni components done, you can put them together in your baking dish. After you’ve placed all of the ingredients into the dish, sprinkle bacon pieces over the top and evenly.
When you are done, the oven is ready to go through the roof of flavor; therefore, cover it in foil before baking for 20 to 25 minutes. This will allow the cheese and macaroni to cook to the point of being completely cooked.
After that, take the cheese and macaroni from the pan, take the foil off, and then put it back into the oven for another 10 minutes. This will give your dish a wonderful golden crust placed on top.

- 4 oz Extra sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 oz Parmesan cheese
- 4 oz Asiago cheese
- 4 oz Swiss cheese
- Vegetable oil
- 2 tsp salt
- 4 cups milk
- ½ cup flour
- 6 Tbl unsalted butter – divided
- ½ tsp nutmeg
- 1/2 tsp pepper
Preparing the Macaroni
You’ll need to heat the oven to 375 degrees F to ensure that when you’re finished with the macaroni, it’ll be ready to begin baking.
Make sure to bring the water to an immediate boil in a large pan. When the water starts boiling, add the elbow macaroni. Add 2 teaspoons of salt and drizzle vegetable oil into the boiling water. Salt will help add flavor to the noodles, while vegetable oil helps keep them from curling together. Cook the pasta for 6 to 8 minutes or until the desired level of tenderness. When it’s cooked, drain it well.
While the pasta cooks while the pasta is cooking, heat the milk (4 cups) in a small saucepan. Please don’t allow the milk to get to a simmer because it could ruin the pasta.
In a separate pot, melt 6 tablespoons of butter over an extremely low temperature. Once the butter has completely melted, add the flour. Mix thoroughly and cook at a low temperature for two minutes while stirring continuously using the whisk.
When the milk is warm and incorporated, stir it into the mix and cook for another 3 or 4 minutes or until it’s smooth and has thickened somewhat. Take the pan off the flame, and then add salt, pepper, salt, and nutmeg. Mix in both kinds of cheese, one at a time. Melting is much easier when all cheese has been cut into pieces or, to cut down an amount of time, buy cheese that has been shredded.
When all the cheese is well-mixed with the smooth sauce, Add the cooked macaroni and stir it well.
Baking the Mac and Cheese
Once you’ve finished the preparation, it’s now time to begin baking. Put the cheesy mixture into the 9″ x 12″ baking dish. The dish is covered with foil, and it cooks for about 25 minutes. Take off the foil at 25 minutes. cook for the remaining 10 minutes without covering so that the cheese on top will be browned.
Serve this as a side dish, or as a main course with salad or vegetables with a salad. In either case, your whole family will want this dish every day!
