Chili Con Carne Recipe:

The spicy recipe for chili con carne is packed with rich flavor and is sure to have no issue delivering a fast spice to your taste buds. This chili recipe is ideal if you’re looking to serve your friends and family food that will satisfy their appetites and add some zest to your life.

Chili Con Carne Recipe Ingredients:

  • 1-1/2 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 large green pepper – chopped
  • 2 medium onions – chopped
  • 1 habanero pepper – seeds removed then diced
  • 5 cans of chili beans – 15.5 oz
  • 1 can tomato sauce – 28 oz
  • 1 can diced tomatoes – 28 oz
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp olive oil or vegetable oil

Browning and Flavoring the Beef

Use a large stock pot to heat the vegetable or olive oil on a medium-high flame. When it is hot, add the chopped onions and the green pepper. Adding these ingredients in the early stages is a great method to add lots of flavor to the chili, as their juices are released into every ingredient added. Let them simmer for 4-5 minutes or until the onions turn transparent or clear.

Then, add the ground beef, habanero, and the rest of the seasonings. If you’ve never tried habanero before, you may need to use only one half to ensure it’s not too hot. Also, make sure that all the seeds are gone! Mix them up until the beef is cooked and there’s barely any pink in the middle.

If you’ve decided to use ground beef that is lean in this recipe, it might not be required to remove the grease in the first place; however, if you opt for regular ground beef, you’ll likely need to use a filter to eliminate the grease. Once the meat is drained, it’s possible to return it to the pot and begin making the chili.

How To Make Chili Con Carne?

It’s time to mix all the tomatoes, beans, tomato sauce, meat, and veggies. Please do not remove any liquid from the tomatoes or beans because it will all end up in the pot. Mix all of the ingredients.

Then you can bring the chili to an unbeatable boil over a high temperature. After that, it is boiling; reduce the heat and bring the chili down to a simmer. Let it cook for between 45 and 60 minutes. Be sure to stir it frequently so there is no chance of sticking to the pan’s bottom.

The heat from the habanero pepper will grow stronger as the chili is cooked. If you prefer the spice of your chili, add another habanero or a portion of the seeds, as that’s the source from which most of the heat is derived.

Finishing the Chili Recipe

The chili con carne is fantastic in its own right. However, this doesn’t mean you shouldn’t incorporate a variety of your ideas. Sometimes we enjoy an incredibly buttery and crumbly cornbread to accompany our chili or sprinkle on cheese and a heaping of Sour cream. These are just a few suggestions; however, what you decide to do is entirely yours to decide! [1]

Ingredients for Turkey Chili Recipe:

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 large onion – chopped
  • 1 can chili beans – 15.5 oz
  • 1 can great northern beans – 15.5 oz
  • 1 can light red kidney beans – 15.5 oz
  • 1 can pinto beans – 15.5 oz
  • 1 can tomato sauce – 28 oz
  • 1 can diced tomatoes – 28 oz
  • 3 tsp chili powder
  • 1 Tbl garlic
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 2 tsp olive oil or vegetable oil

Getting the Turkey Prepared

You will first have to pour oil over the bottom of the pot and cook it at the medium to medium-high setting; after a couple of minutes, add the onions and cook them to a simmer until cooked well, which will take around five minutes at this temperature.

After your onions have finished cooking, add the ground turkey and stir to allow the juices of the onions to absorb in the meat. While at it, you could also mix your chili powder, garlic, salt, and pepper. If you’d like to include any of your favorite spices, this is the perfect time to do it!

The turkey should be cooked until it is cooked, and there isn’t a trace of pink remaining within the meat since the turkey is lighter. Removing the juices is unnecessary, which can help preserve more flavor.

How to Make Turkey Chili?

When the turkey has been cooking, make an effort to open all of the cans. You can choose any beans you want to cook your chili with. However, we suggest using four varieties. A normal can of beans needs to be rinsed with the liquid and rinsed out if you’re using chili beans. The liquid contained in chili beans typically has spices that add to the overall flavor.

Homemade Turkey Chili

After your turkey has finished cooking, add the tomatoes, beans (not draining), and tomato sauce, and start making all the ingredients together. It is recommended that the chili come to a fast boiling point, then reduce the heat to a gentle simmer for around an hour or so to allow the chili time to develop its flavor fully. [2]

Chili Recipe Options

If you prefer the chili spicier, then you can add jalapeno while cooking the turkey in the beginning. You can also add seeds as a great way to increase the heat. You could also add your favorite type of cheese by grating it on the top, or what we love to add is the ketchup. This may sound strange; however, it tastes tasty; give it a try!
